The Metal Gear Survive release date has been scheduled for the 22nd of February, 2018. Altogether, this is the 23rd installment of the entire Metal Gear game franchise.
After all these games, the title seems to uphold its relevancy and just keeps coming up with better plots each year. The game was initially announced to be in development in 2016, at a Gamescom event.
Plot & Storyline
The storyline takes place between the ‘Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes’ and ‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’ titles. The player can have three teammates alongside him, as well as another actual player through the multiplayer cooperative mode.
In an alternate world filled with zombie-like creatures, the player needs to find materials to return to the real world. The danger lies around every corner. Hence, it is the player’s duty to get past all the creatures.
Gameplay & Development
Metal Gear Survive is the first installment in the series after Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami. The game is played from a third-person view and features a detailed stealth system.
The player has the choice of going in loud, guns-blazing; or sneak around and avoid the creatures, or kill them with stealth.
This aspect of the game gives a realistic feeling of control to the player throughout the game. Besides, it lets them choose their approach.
